Director's Message

	“Translation is a team sport.” This is never more true than in research on rare diseases (defined as affecting fewer than 200,000 people in the U.S.) since people affected by, and researchers working on, any particular rare disease are by definition few and far between.

NCATS Seeks Applications to Repurpose Existing Drugs

In collaboration with AstraZeneca and Janssen Research & Development, LLC, NCATS is seeking applications to explore new treatments for patients using existing experimental drugs or biologics. Through its NIH-Industry Partnerships initiative, NCATS will support public-private partnerships by making a selection of industry assets available to test ideas for new therapeutic uses. CTSA Program Good Clinical Practice Standards Published

Investigators leading the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program good clinical practice (GCP) standards initiative recently published three papers in the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science. GCP incorporates established ethical and scientific quality standards for the design, conduct, recording and reporting of clinical research involving the participation of human subjects. Read more >
