Friends --

I wanted to update you on some things from last week's email:

Praise reports!

Last week we asked for prayer for...
  • canzion.jpegIzzy and John's meetings with church and ministry leaders in El Salvador.  They had a very fruitful and productive couple of meetings. The pastors were very excited about what Micah Life will be doing and they were anxious for it to get started. They met also with the leaders of CanZion, the music ministry school where Izzy studied, and many of the current students were also enthusiastic about getting involved as volunteers with Micah Life. We are looking forward to see how God continues to move in and through these relationships being forged. It also turns out the wife of one of the pastors is a lawyer and she is offering to help us create our Salvadoran entity!
  • pinares_de_suiza.jpgIzzy found a house to rent! after a busy week of driving all around and looking at house after house, the Lord opened the doors this morning for us to rent a nice little 3-bedroom house for less than we were anticipating, and well within our budget. We were close to renting another one that was more expensive, but we felt God wanted us to wait on His timing, and of course He had something better in store (and $200/mo cheaper than the one we almost went with!) Double blessing! Also that 3rd bedroom means we will have a guest room for when you come to visit. ;)
  • We finished our Form 1023! This is a 12-page application (with at least 20 pages of additional attachments) for tax exemption from the IRS. It has been a long and detailed process and we are so relieved to have it finished. Now we are just a few hundred dollars short of the $850 application fee so we can mail it in. Who knew starting a nonprofit was so expensive? But we trust that just as God has provided every step of the way, He will continue to do so faithfully.

Prayer Requests
  • As I mentioned last week, our car was overheating on the drive to El Salvador. Well, it looks like the fan is broken. Izzy is looking to get it fixed before he comes back on Monday. Please pray that he is able to fix it quickly and won't run into any other complications.
  • Funds. As I mentioned before, we still need a few hundred more dollars to apply for 501(c)3 status with the IRS. This documentation will allow us to provide the necessary tax receipts to donors as they give. A huge thank you to those of you that have already given. We are so grateful.

We truly believe that YOU are as much a part of Micah Life as we are. All of the plans and dreams that God has placed within us only become a reality as you answer the call He has placed within you. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
