ALL WORK AND NO PLAY
Makes Gregg a Dull Boy
Did I consider making this entire newsletter that line repeated through every section? Of course I did. But I'd either get a tidal wave of unsubscribe notices or a knock on the door from Bellevue hospital, so I opted against it.
Though I'll admit to feeling a bit like I've been holed up in a snowed-in hotel in the mountains without outside contact. Barely leaving ones desk and working 10-14 hour days can make a short month feel really long.
Of course, all of this is working towards the completion of PIX Vol. 2: TOO SUPER FOR SCHOOL, for which I've gotten a whole lot done, but still have plenty left to do over these next 20 days.
"But what are you going to do when you finish?", people have asked. Aside from taking one day off to NOT work, I'm looking at a lot of housekeeping and prepping to get my taxes done...and then getting back to work (I gotta earn. living, folks!). Exciting stuff, I know.
On the other hand, in actual exciting news, the new, Image Comics edition of PIX Vol. 1: NE WEIRDEST WEEKEND arrived in better comic shops on 2/22, and any online/bookstore orders should be arriving/fulfilled this week. And, it's cool to see, with Image Comics, the book getting more attention and press, like:
Thanks to Image, Pix was on this Barnes & Noble list of Best Comics and Graphic Novels for February 2017.
I was also interviewed by Matt O'Keefe at The Beat, and appeared on some podcasts, namely War Rocket Ajax and The Jock & Nerd Podcast. I also recorded an episode of Double Page Spread, but it hasn't posted yet, so I can't point you to it with a direct link. But it'll go up eventually.

PIX STUFF!
As mentioned above, and last month, crunch time's in full effect over here. Coloring's been the name of the game, for the most part, with design and bonus content also on the to-do list.
But as I'm working to finish book 2, you can now pre-order it!
To help entice people to order the book, throughout March, every Wednesday (starting today!), I'm posting seven pages from the first chapter of the book, so come 3/22, you'll be able to read ALL of chapter one, 28 pages, for free, at PixComic.com.
You can Pre-order PIX Vol. 2: TOO SUPER FOR SCHOOL through your local comic shop (tell them you want Diamond Item #MAR170830), and then pick it up on 5/3 (or go that Saturday, 5/6, and get some free comics too as part of Free Comic Book Day).
Or, i f you're not a comic shop-type or don't have one near you, you can order it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or use Indiebound (to find a local bookseller to get it). Copies ordered outside the comic shops are set to arrive on 5/9, for what that's worth.
Did I ever even post the cover to book 2? I can't remember. Either way, here is (again?):
