Spring is just around the corner!
Where I live it has been a long, cold and wet winter. We have gotten to see the power, strength, clarity and fortitude of Rain and Wind. The joy over having much needed rain that has filled our dams, creeks, rivers and streams has been deeply and whole heartedly received. And, the desire to see and feel great Sun again has shown up in our hearts and bodies.
Being able to have two feelings at the same time is something that comes about at around the age of 6 years old. Gordon Neufeld, Developmental Psychologist calls it “double feelings.” I am so glad, as an adult, to be able to have my “double feelings” so that I can feel my joy over all this rain AND my deep desire to feel warmth and sun on and in my body.
Our young ones do not have the capacity yet to feel both of these things, so for them, loving something one minute, completely, and then hating something the next, completely, is their experience in life. This will change in time, as the biological nature of their being matures.
Until then, I happily offer you a little story to listen to on my blog, as well as some Nature Experiences that go with it, to aid them in looking for the Signs of Spring.
May you and your children enjoy!
Warmly,
Wendolyn
