International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. Yet progress has slowed in many places across the world, so global action is needed to accelerate gender parity.
The Women in Community Life Advisory Committee are excited to be hosting the 3rd Annual International Women's Day Event in the Greater Geelong region on 3rd March 2017!
This years amazing guest speaker is Clementine Ford... a Melbourne base writer, speaker and feminist thinker. Women from across the region will also be celebrated with the presentation of 4 Award categories for this years Women in Community Life Awards!
The event will also include fabulous women speakers, light refreshments, live music, a women's Aboriginal Cultural Ceremony, door prizes, networking and more!
On Tuesday 31st of January, a group of dedicated agents of change descended on the Surf Coast Shire community rooms to discuss actions around preventing one of Australia’s most pressing health issues; violence against women and children.
