ILMI Updates: January - February, 2017

ILMI starts the year with a key event on the various aspects of urbanisation, including topics on land, housing, economics, informal trade, community-led infrastructure, the new urban agenda, and the right to adequate housing.

Registration for the full event is open to members of the ILMI Updates mailing list! You can find the registration form here, the programme here, and the general invitation letter here; you can forward the form to Ms Anguwo, to the address indicated in the documents.

The event is the result of a partnership with the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), with support of the Namibia Institute of Architects, the Urban Design Institute of Namibia (UDIN), the City of Windhoek (CoW), and GIZ.

This event is connected to our work on the revision of the Blueprint and development of a strategy to guide the implementation for the Mass Housing Development Programme, which was commissioned to us by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD).

We are glad to welcome the start of activities of our colleagues at Development Workshop Namibia, who is a recently registered Namibian NGO with a focus on sustainable urban development, informal settlements and the disadvantaged communities that reside in them.

They will be conducting a Media Monitoring on Urban Development in Namibia, documenting news related to the foci of our programme through their network. To request receiving these documents, you can contact Dr B. Weber.
