Who are you going to Invite, Pickup and Bring to church?

Dear Mt. Pisgah family,

Have you ever felt the need for a tune-up? This is standard procedure if you own a car. There are times when maintenance is necessary. The wear and tear takes its toll. The same is true in our relationship with God. Life has a way of wearing us down. There are times when our faith needs a tune-up as well. If we're not careful, we can grow weary and become discouraged.

I believe one of the gifts the church has given us is the Season of Lent. Lent is an opportunity to give attention to the maintenance we need. Our faith needs seasons for renewal. Lent begins on March 1st and I hope you'll take time to have your faith renewed.  Let me encourage you to make time for worship, study, and prayer. Join us for fellowship and service as we seek to follow the path of Jesus.

All of us need a tune-up from time to time. Come and be renewed during this Season of Lent.

Ash Wednesday Soup Dinner and Worship

Join us for some delicious homemade soups! The youth will be hosting a soup dinner from 6 to 7 pm on Wednesday, March 1. We will take up a love offering, and proceeds will benefit our 2017 summer mission trip to Pittsburgh

There will be two opportunities for worship on Ash Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Chapel and 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary on March 1.

Upcoming Study for Lent:
Creed-What Christians Believe and Why

"I believe..." it's something we say every Sunday as we worship. With those words we affirm core beliefs that Christians have professed for centuries. But what does it mean to believe? Are they important or necessary for today?

Please check out this video promo by Adam Hamilton https://youtu.be/9pNrFUQ3W_Y

Join us this Lent as we explore the Apostles Creed, beginning March 8 at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm in Room 107/109.

You can sign up by clicking here.

I hope you'll join us this Lent for our new study Creed-What Christians Believe and Why.

Upcoming Sermon Series for Lent: Not a Fan

Jesus had lots fans. These were people who enjoyed his preaching and healing. They liked it when he put the Pharisees in their place or stumped the religious leaders of their day. But very few liked it when Jesus spoke of forgiving enemies, making sacrifices, or enduring persecution on his account. That was too much! The cost of being a follower was too high.

Join us this Lent as we consider the question: Am I fan or a follower?

Worship This Weekend:
Transfigured (
Matthew 17:1-9)

We'll go to the mountaintop and back to witness the transfiguration of Jesus and prepare for the cross-bound journey ahead.

See you in church!
