TODAY: Jericho Project Groundbreaking

Today at 11 a.m., there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of The Jericho Project, a housing community that will serve individuals with special needs and disabilities.

This project represents a new type of collaboration which will yield a living/learning environment that will (A) prepare its special needs and disabilities residents to live more independent lives, and (B) provide to the involved students a life learning experience to guide them throughout the rest of their lives.

The Disabilities and Special Needs Boards of Pickens and Anderson counties, Southern Wesleyan University and the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs have come together to make this project a reality. Details about The Jericho Project can be found at jerichoatswu.org.

The groundbreaking will take place at the construction site, located just off Wesleyan Drive, across the street from Varsity Field, home of the Warriors Softball Team.
