2017 OBT Tour de France Tour - French Alps, Mediterranean & Paris!

2017 Tour de France Tour - ONLY 5 Spots Available!

We will be riding the best roads in the French Alps (yes, we will be climbing Alpe d'Huez) as well as visiting the French Riviera and Marseilles, and taking a TGV to Paris to watch the final stage. Oh, and we'll witness 5 stages of the Tour de France!

We start in the Olympic town of Albertville, where we will rendezvous and start our riding. From Albertville we ride over the Col de la Madeleine to St. Jean de Maurienne. We'll be in St. Jean for one night before we trace the last two climbs of upcoming Stage 17 - the Telegraphe and Galibier! These climbs will lead us to La Grave, where we will spend the next 4 nights.

While we're in La Grave we'll be able to climb Alpe d'Huez and watch stages 17, 18 and 19. From there we'll head to Marseille and the final Time Trial along the waterfront. Will there be GC changes?!?! The next day (Sunday) we will jump on a TGV in the morning and head to Paris to watch the last stage on the Champs Elysees.

Andy Hampsten Interview & 2004 Alpe d’Huez Time Trial Preview by Bruce Hildenbrand

The dream of every climber is to win the Tour stage at Alpe d’Huez. It represents the unofficial climber’s championship and almost always plays a pivotal role in the overall outcome of the race. In 2003, Lance Armstrong’s margin of victory over Jan Ulrich was carved out on the storied slopes of the Alpe. With an individual time trial up it’s legendary 21-hairpin bends scheduled for the 2004 edition of the le Gran Boucle many believe this could be the most crucial test in Lance’s quest to become the first rider to win six Tours. And, to add even further drama, the race organizers have dedicated the 2004 stage to the memory of the late Marco Pantani, who tamed the slopes twice in 1995 and in 1997 when he set the unofficial record of 36 minutes for the 3,600-foot ascent.
