2017 is going to be a big year for IBOLOGY! So far, one game has been released on Steam, and one science video game competition has come and gone. There's another competition in two weeks, along with the annual "Seven Day Rogue Like" game jam. Then later in the year, "Core Conquest" is coming to Steam!
"The Curse Of Yendor" was released on Steam in February, and players love it.

It really satisfies the rogue-like itch to explore, battle, loot, and manipulate your environment. It's very accessible and streamlined, but with a lot of depth in its systems.

This past Saturday, we had the first in a series of biology, chemistry, and math competitions at Prince George's Community College in Maryland.

IBOLOGY was commisioned to produce 5 video games dealing with bio, chem, and math, geared towards middle school kids. The aim is to teach them something in a way that they can enjoy. One team even got a perfect score on the nuclear chemistry game... pretty exciting!
Seven Day Rogue Like (7DRL) is coming March 4-12th. It's a game jam where creators are tasked with making a rogue-like game in 7 days (168 hours).

This year, I'm teaming up with professional video game writer Matthew Ritter. Matthew told me he always wanted to create a particular kind of RL, and he even had a detailed back-story for the world. So for 7DRL, I'm going to prototype some of his ideas, and see if we can take it further. I'm really looking forward to this too.

But before 7DRL, I have to get ready for another competition, this one is about cyber security. We're having a live training event Saturday, March 11th, so I've got to tune up the prototype and get it ready.

Finally, "Core Conquest" (formerly "Not Your Space") will be making it's way to Steam in mid-to-late 2017. It's going to be partially re-designed, and rewritten from the ground up. A lot of the basic gameplay will remain, but some of the less interesting stuff will be removed.

So in closing, there is (as always) A LOT going on with IBOLOGY.

Thanks!

Bob
