Wow this school year is really flying by. Can you believe there are only 2 more six weeks left until we close out the year. With that in mind, we wanted to point one important reminder. These emails we send every week contain some really important information. They may seem very similar week to week, but they do contain the most up to date information about what’s going on with the Band Boosters and the details tend to change over time. Please read them carefully!
Senior Scholarship Applications - Class of 2017
This is the LAST WEEK to work on senior scholarship applications. Applications are due NEXT Monday, March 6th, 2017 to Mr. Mobley by the close of the school day. Applications must be filled out by the student applying. Please download and review the application for more details.
Congratulations
A huge congratulations to the Varsity and JV Winter Guard members who participated in Saturday’s TCGC Contest at Bowie High School. The JV Guard placed 3rd in Scholastic JV class and the Varsity Team placed 1st in the Scholastic Open class. So far our both groups have had a tremendously strong start to the season. Go Rock Guard!
Upcoming Fundraising Events
5th Annual Guard Gala
Speaking of guard, don’t forget The 5th Annual Guard Gala is March 11th starting at 6:00 PM in the 1100 cafeteria. Come for dinner, music from our Jazz Band, a silent auction, and performances by both the Varsity and JV Color Guard. Buy your tickets for $10 each from any Guard Member or by emailing rockguard@computerjocks.com. We encourage all band families to join us for this fun and rewarding night.
In order for the Gala to be a success we need volunteers. The needs vary by time and donations. Here are the needs for the Gala: to supply dessert donations, help with setup and decorations, tickets sales, silent auction and clean up. 2nd Annual Garage Sale
The plans for our 2nd Annual Garage Sale on March 25th are starting to take shape but we have some big needs still to make this event successful.
While we need participation in all areas, we are STILL in critical need of the following:
- Trucks - We REALLY need volunteers with trucks that can help transport larger items, both for the drop offs prior to the sale and the morning of.
- Volunteers for Drop Off - We need YOU! We need people to help with Drop off times.
- Volunteers for Pre Event Logistics - We still need people willing to help coordinate some of the logistics before the garage sale.
- Pop-up Tents - We need people willing to loan the use of pop-up tents to provide some much needed shade on the blacktop.
- Tables - It looks as though we will not have as many tables to use from the school this year. If you have tables we can borrow for the day, please sign up and let us know.

2017 Mattress Sale
Although it is still a few months away, make sure you have April 8th marked on your calendar. We’ll be selling brand name, high quality mattresses from Custom Fundraising Solutions for our annual Mattress Sale. If you need a mattress, THIS is the time and place to buy one. We’ll be taking over the 1100 Cafeteria this year so there will be a lot of space to check out the mattresses they bring!
