We’re Extending February Prices

Great news for you procrastinators (or those of you with procrastinating friends): We’re keeping tickets to ROPECRAFT Chicago at $199.99 until March 15th.

The reason is pretty simple: our producer, Grand Master David, was looking at the registered attendees and said “This is great. Do they know what they’re getting?

It was a good point. While we certainly appreciate the people who have faith that after two amazing ROPECRAFTs they just buy tickets right away, a lot of people want to know what they’re getting class-wise.

Which is why we’re going to be announcing our Class List in just a few days. As a GRUE veteran, I have to tell you that class selection for an event like this is hard. When you get a group of presenters like this together and ask “What do you want to teach?”, the choices boggle the mind. Even with eight classrooms and three days of classes, I have to make decisions - I have to say “no” to classes that sound fantastic.

Happily, I also get to say “yes” to more than a few. Here’s a couple that we’re going to have for sure:

A Sneak Peak at two classes for ROPECRAFT Chicago!

A Weave for What Ails You
                                     - with Shay

Whatever your rigging problem, weaving is probably the answer! This class will teach a gorgeous, suspension-worthy chest harness that illustrates weaving techniques, as well as discussing & demonstrating weaving as a general concept that can be integrated into many common ties. Weaving makes your harnesses more comfortable & sustainable, helps maintain tension while keeping bondage flat, and creates a sleek & sexy aesthetic… while also being easy to learn & execute! Depending on time, a hip harness may also be covered.

Role-Playing Rope Disasters

- with Jake Wing

What do you do when your rope partner faints? How does it feel to cut rope under tension? Does your cutting tool actually cut? What if the lights go out? What do you do when up-lines jam? We're going to try to answer all of these questions and more. We'll have an indestructible "rope bottom", so we can make mistakes and learn from them so we won't make the same mistakes when it counts. This will be a hands-on interactive workshop where everyone that wants to will have a chance to test themselves in adversity. Come drill on the bad things that can happen, so when the real thing happens, we'll know what to do.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You also have the opportunity to come in on Friday for an intensive with Mark and Lani DeViate, a 24-hour Rope Practice Lounge, and a new PHOTOGRAPHY DUNGEON (more on that below).

Part of ROPECRAFT being “Knot-for Everyone” is inviting multiple styles, diverse instructors, and then asking them what they are passionate about teaching. We’re confident that will give you a weekend experience that you’ll never forget - and for another two weeks, you and your friends can still buy tickets for only $199.99.

Introducing the ROPECRAFT Chicago Photo Room!
Due to feedback provided by a number of attendees, we have decided to add a photo studio room for ROPECRAFT Chicago! This is will be where people can come take photos without having to worry about anything in the background, set up lights and concentrate on getting that perfect shot. This will be more of a space to come take photos and not really to play unless you are doing a photo shoot of a scene. There will be a few hardpoints with enough room around them to set up lights.

But I can't bring my photography equipment on the plane!
Jack Chase has been kind enough to supply us with a few backdrops and some other studio goodies. He has also volunteered to take photos and give them to you on a thumb drive if you don’t have a photographer.

Great - but I want to learn some world-class techniques, too!
Surprise presenter Knot_Head will be teaching three "Midnight Master Classes" on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as assisting people along with Jack Chase.

Please remember that the Responsible Adult Photography Policy is still in place and you must have consent before taking photos no matter where you are at the event.

This is bound to be fun and we're looking forward to seeing you!

As always, we're here to help so if you have any questions about coming to see us, feel free to contact our Assistant Director at ozma@ropecraft.net and we'll see what we can do for you!
