Hurry often leads us to multitask. Although we think we can do a number of things simultaneously, we are actually “switch-tasking.” This is ok when walking and chewing gum, but not for complex cognitive tasks or dealing with people.
If you are writing an email to one person while talking with another, neither one is getting the best of you... and they know it.
Multitasking --
- reduces information retention
- jeopardizes safety
- significantly decreases productivity
TRY THIS:
Honor the priority of the moment. Schedule specific hours for work, family, and self-care, and don’t let them overlap.
Work faster by doing your work in batches - finish all of one task before starting another.
