and Happy National Margarita Day!

This weeks Hi from Hannah is a little bit different to pay homage to one of my favorite drinks. It has nothing to do with me forgetting that it's Tuesday and suddenly realizing I need to write this issue...Anyway, today is national marg day and its cause for celebration *dancing emoji* Time to break out your favorite mariachi music, your marg-drinkin' friends, and your tequila!

I'd say all of that makes for a very happy Wednesday :)

The Essentials

National Margarita Day Margs

Ready to take on the day, but don't have a favorite recipe? I've got ya covered. Fix either of these and you'll be ready to go!

Classic

For one drink, via Bon Appétit
1 1/2 oz. tequila (100% agave a must, preferably a "reposado")
1 1/2 oz. triple sec or Cointreau
1 to 1 1/4 oz. of lime juice
Salt for the rim of the glass

Sparking Grapefruit

For one drink, via my mom
1 part tequila
3 parts Grapefruit Pelligrino
Pinch of kosher salt
Served over ice

Today, Feb. 22nd, is national margarita day! This holiday actually has it's own website, www.nationalmargaritaday.com, and was apparently founded by Todd McCalla, pictured here.

While other bars will be celebrating National Margarita day with happy hours and reduced prices, Bartaco is going all out. Stop by for some tacos, guac, churros, and obviously margs.
