What better time than WBD weekend to launch Pickled Pepper Presents...Every Saturday at 11am Pickled Pepper will host an interactive event for children aged 2-14.
Watch this space for theatre, storytelling, the opportunity to meet an author, create with an illustrator or be entertained by our staff team in all things bookish, perfect for your kids big and small.
We kickstart the season with a Tate published author/illustrator team and their new book Inspector Brunswick.

Introducing Inspector Brunswick: The Case of the Missing Eyebrow! A funny and charming picture book and the first in a series starring the world’s greatest cat detective!

Join author Chris Lam Sam and illustrator Angela Keoghan for a read-along of their debut picture book published by Tate.

This page-turning mystery introduces an endearing and eccentric cast of characters and teaches children how to look closely at art and to find new and interesting details each time. Visiting us all the way from New Zealand, Chris and Angela will be putting on an interactive read-along of their book and bringing their whimsical and humorous characters to life.

This family activity will also include a special ‘expressions’ drawing workshop from Angela Keoghan. Learn how eyebrows alter facial expressions by using Angela’s very own artwork – try to make the Admiral’s expression change. Can you make the face happy or sad, inquisitive or surprised, cheeky or sneaky?

Tickets £5 redeemable against books on the day

It's that time of year again and WBD is upon us. We're a hive of activity here helping schools with authors for the big day next Thurs - have fun dressing up! To be in with a chance of winning a goody bag tweet your pics to us @pickledbooks and dont't forget to pop into the shop to redeem your WBD token.

When you get your book token, all you need to do is to swap it for one of the TEN (exclusive, new and completely free) World Book Day books, all available at Pickled Pepper Books!

Or, if you’d prefer, you can use your book token to get £1 off any full price book instead! And if you’d rather get an audio book, that’s fine too! It’s your choice, just as long as the book or audio book costs at least £2.99.

Then all YOU have to do is take your book home and enjoy it.
