National AMWA Elections Voting
Ends February 26th
!!!


We are in the midst of our election process, and we want to hear from you in electing your 2017-2018 National AMWA Student Leaders!

To ensure a democratic process with great inclusiveness, candidate speeches and voting will be conducted online, right at your fingertips. All active national medical student members are eligible to vote until February 26th, 2017. Results will be announced the evening of Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the 102nd Annual Meeting in San Fransisco, CA.

Please take a moment to view the list of candidates and their speeches HERE. Elections are divided into two tabs: Executive Board and Regional Directors. In each tab, speeches are followed by the ballot. After reading about our outstanding candidates, please cast your vote using the ballot at the bottom of each tab.
NOTE: You must log into your AMWA account to view the page. Only national student members are eligible to vote.

Literary AMWA Launches!  
Call for submissions in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry!


AMWA is pleased to announce the launch of Literary AMWA, a new initiative by the Literary Arts and Medicine Task Force. Literary AMWA features an online and print gallery of writing by women who practice the art and science of medicine.

Studio AMWA and Doctors Who Create would like to have medical schools design a white coat with what the coat means to them.  Each school that participates must send photos of the drawings and coats to studioamwa@amwa-doc.org. The top 5 schools with the most creative coats will be asked to bring their coats to the National Conference and have them displayed in a public art gallery on both Studio AMWA and DWC websites.

All submissions are due by March 17, 2017.

"On the Path to Becoming Physicians":
AMWA's Magical Music Medley Project

Studio AMWA asks student and physician members to lip sync a short, fun video to one of the four designated Disney songs along with a group song at the end.

Celebrating National Women Physicians Day

On February 3rd, National Women Physicians Day was observed, providing a day to acknowledge female doctors across the country and the amazing work that they do.  

The AMWA branch at Oklahoma State University joined in on the day's celebration by posting photos of their members with the hashtags #NWPD and #IAmBlackwell  

Check out the collage they created to celebrate female doctors!!!
