Join us for this international event that connects your community and local experts, as we explore Innovations Bridging Health & Housing. Our guest speaker, Andy Bond of the Portland Hotel Society (PHS) in Vancouver, BC will present an overview of the PHS Community Services Society’s work - pioneering and delivering service innovations that are effective, real and challenge existing narratives that keep people excluded from decent housing, quality health care and other services while being left to suffer on the street. Gain insights into:
· Housing First best practices
· Low barrier housing with clinical supports
· Alternatives to traditional detox and managed alcohol programs
· Emergency shelter
·Needle distribution, supervised injection and low-barrier methadone
North America's first legal supervised-injection site, known as Insite
· Primary health care programs and dental care
·Street soccer, bean to bar chocolate, and more
A panel discussion with local experts and “World Café” breakout groups rounds out the forum, connecting our community through the sharing of innovative ways to bridge health & housing for our most vulnerable community members.
