Ennis Book Club Festival 03-05 March 2017
With just over a week to go to the official opening of the 11th Ennis Book Club Festival, the excitement in Ennis is high. We hope you’re looking forward to your visit as much as we look forward to welcoming you.

A word of warning however!  A number of Festival events have now SOLD out! Others are almost full to capacity. So if you haven’t chosen yet what to attend, don’t delay! We’re anticipating that EBCF 2017 will see the largest numbers yet converging on the friendliest town in Ireland.

For this our last pre-Festival Newsletter, we focus on practicalities for EBCF 2017. Check out information below on:

Recordings @ EBCF 2017

We’re delighted that numbers of our EBCF 2017 events will be recorded for posterity.

Over the course of the weekend, we’ll have the Attic Sessions – an original web video series about Irish literature - curating a short overview of the weekend. Do engage with them if you see them recording at a venue near you. We want to ensure they capture what is best about EBCF!

Our special Friday night Readers’ Voice event, which is being brought to Ennis by the Laureate for Irish Fiction’s office, will be livestreamed from the theatre in Ennis. Check out full details on: www.facebook.com/LaureateIrishFiction

And on Saturday evening, The Irish Times event with Michael Collins will be recorded for a podcast that will feature, in turn, as part of the monthly Irish Times Book Club.

Bookclub-in-a-Box

Fancy a new set of books for FREE for your bookclub? Then why not engage with our Bookclub-in-a-Box. The “Rules of the Game” are set out on our Facebook page. Basically, gather a set of your Bookclub books (ideally between 4 to 8 copies); bring them to the Festival and swap them, in turn, for another set. If you don’t get a chance to box the books beforehand, no need to fear! We’ll have plenty of boxes, marker pens and sellotape at our Information Desk in glór, where the sealed boxes will be on display.

It’s really a bit of a lucky dip when it comes to choosing what you might take home! #bookclubinabox ; #EBCF2017

A sneak preview of our Authors reading …

Fancy a sneak preview of some our 2017 contributors reading from their own work? Well then tune into our Facebook page next week where we’ll broadcast a short video from different contributors. They made these especially for Ennis given how excited they are at partaking in Ireland’s dedicated Book Club Festival. We’re very excited about welcoming them too!

Keep the Conversation Going …

Join in the conversation about EBCF 2017 by tweeting to #EBCF2017. We’d love to hear your thoughts and see your photos over the course of the Festival weekend. Follow all our activity on FB – Ennis Book Club Festival – and Twitter @ebcf.

We’ll also be gathering your thoughts on the Festival over the weekend through a short survey. Again, we’d really welcome your feedback – it all helps in planning for the future.

Look forward to seeing you in Ennis next week! Ennis Book Club Festival Committee
