Dear Friend,
This month we've handpicked an eclectic spread of Italian white wines to enjoy as summer hits its peak. Our lineup includes Tuscan Vermentino, Umbrian Grechetto, Campanian Falanghina and Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana) from Veneto...

Italian Whites for S.A. Tastes
With the weather so balmy these days, it takes sincere discipline to allow the workday sun to get low enough before cracking open that perfectly chilled bottle of pale, refreshing goodness.
We understand. And so we selected the following white wines with one main aim in mind: providing patient appreciators with an equally satisfying but different and unusual palette of tastes. Well removed from the customary South African canvas which, as we all know, is mainly grounded on Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc.
We invite you to enjoy elegant subtlety and multi-layered complexity (Lugana and Grechetto), a different type of crispness for those who love Sauvignon Blanc (Vermentino) and unabashed, generous fruitiness for Chenin Blanc lovers (Falanghina).
Recently we recommended this selection to a group of local wine enthusiasts and received the following feedback from the organiser:
The white wines were interesting. I personally preferred the Lugana, which was slightly more complex to me, with the Falanghina also lovely. Many in the group had the same preference, although the Vermentino was picked by some as their favourite – with a crispness similar to a Sauvignon but without the glaring errors one often finds in local wines. We all wished we had seafood to eat with the wines… very clearly wine made for food. Very different to the whites we normally drink.
So there you have it. Why not try them for yourself and let us know your thoughts?.. We are continuously scouting for new experiences and your input helps us no-end.
