Construction latest

Work is continuing on site with final commissioning and testing activities taking place on the biogas part of the plant. The intake tank and the two digesters are now in operation and the digestate building is complete.

Work is also continuing on the pre-treatment plant. The bunker pit super structure is nearly complete, and the roof is currently being constructed.

The waste crane has been installed, the enzyme reactors are in place and ventilation and electrical works are ongoing throughout. In addition, the office building is being fitted out and the final hard surfacing is being put down around the site.

Work will now focus on constructing the water treatment systems, fitting the enzyme reactor and working on the internal fitting of the office area. Elsewhere on site, the sorting equipment is being contructed and landscaping will take place shortly.

Local Liaison Committee

A Local Liaison Committee was formed earlier this year to gather feedback and opinions from local residents and provide information to the community during construction, through commissioning and into the facility’s operational phase.

Although construction work is expected to cause minimal disruption, DONG Energy is committed to maintaining regular communication with residents and businesses to answer any questions, listen to their feedback and keep them informed of progress.

The latest Local Liaison Committee meeting took place on 7th February. The meeting began with a presentation and the committee was updated on progress of the site, followed by a talk on the role of waste and energy. The group also had the chance to ask questions and share concerns.
