Arbor Bend Groundbreaking
On Thursday, March 16th, Habitat Greater Orlando broke ground on its third planned community, Arbor Bend. This 34 single-family home community will be built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Seminole County & Greater Apopka's 24 single-family home community, Juniper Bend. We are thrilled that this partnership is making affordable homeownership a dream come true in South Apopka.
Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs joined us and shared, "This affordable housing partnership in Apopka is just one example of Orange County’s solid commitment to strategically expanding our housing options.”

Homeowner Spotlight: Meet Latrina
Some of you might have met Latrina, our 2017 Women Build homeowner. Latrina and her three youngest daughters are currently living in a two-bedroom apartment and are looking forward to making memories together in their new home.
Latrina joined our Women Build volunteers during the week of March 4-11 and was so excited to raise the last wall on her home with her family. She couldn't believe the progress on her home after just one week and is excited to join our volunteers on May 13th to help finish her home.
Making a donation online today will provide stability for homeowners like Latrina in our community!

Thank You Westfield Insurance
Volunteers from the Lake Mary branch of Westfield Insurance joined us at our Butler's Preserve community. From hanging blinds to helping our construction staff at our warehouse load walls that will be raised on a future Habitat home. Westfield Insurance Foundation also graciously donated $3,000 to support affordable homeownership for families in our community.
Westfield partners with housing groups and nonprofit organizations to provide both financial and volunteer assistance to prospective homeowners on how to buy, build, revitalize, finance and insure homes. Through Westfield's involvement with Habitat for Humanity, employees, retirees, spouses and friends lend a helping hand so families can achieve their dream of homeownership.
We are grateful for our continued partnership in building strength through shelter in the Orlando community!

Habitat Greater Orlando is honored to announce the Mark Hellinger House Plan that will be featured in our new 34-home community, Arbor Bend. This plan celebrates the legacy of Habitat volunteers and dedicated supporter, Mark Hellinger.
Time will never erase the work Mark accomplished and the lives of homeowners he positively affected. At our groundbreaking event, we presented the house plan to Mark's daughter, AnnaBelle and his mother, Flossie. Surrounded by family and friends, Mark's legacy will always be cherished.
