Chris Lautenschlager Hired as Executive Director of Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association

New executive director brings community development experience and neighborhood knowledge

Fellow Marcy-Holmes neighbors --

The MHNA board and I are pleased to announce that we have filled the association’s executive director position. Following a month-long search and interview process conducted by the board’s executive committee members, Chris Lautenschlager was offered and accepted the position. Chris assumed

the role on March 6, and is currently transitioning into his new responsibilities with the help of board members. You are likely familiar with Chris from his past three years of working with the MHNA, and we encourage you to welcome him to his new leadership role. As Chris assumes the executive director position, he and the board will launch a search for a second staff position of Office and Logistics Manager.

We’re looking forward to building on Chris’ relationships with neighborhood residents and stakeholders and his deep knowledge of the neighborhood and its history, and to working with him to advance the mission of the MHNA. In addition to serving as MHNA’s manager of communications and operations since 2014, Chris has worked with the Dinkytown Business Alliance, the University District Alliance and the University of Minnesota. He also brings experience from board and volunteer roles with other local neighborhood associations and regional park, lake and art initiatives. Chris has a Masters in Cultural Studies from University of Rochester (NY) and a Bachelors in both Geography and Cultural Studies from University of Minnesota.
