2017 #MarchforMeals is in full swing!
March for Meals is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the issue of food instability among seniors, and to provide additional funding for local Meals on Wheels and Congregate Meals programs.
At Senior Resources, our 2017 March for Meals campaign includes our March for Meals 5K on March 11. It continues throughout the month of March with our lunchbox campaign, and with special guests invited to deliver Meals on Wheels.
If you would like to purchase a paper lunchbox, spend your lunch break delivering Meals on Wheels, or help us reduce our Meals on Wheels waiting list, visit our website for a list of ways to get involved. March for Meals is also a great opportunity for scout groups, civic organizations, classes or groups of friends and coworkers to get together and give back!

Summit on Aging brought together senior experts
Senior Resources kicked off its 50th Anniversary celebration with a Summit on Aging on February 22. Retirees and caregivers, along with long-term care professionals, social workers and healthcare professionals gathered at the USC Alumni Center to learn more about innovations in caring for the elderly. In breakout sessions, panel discussions and a lunchtime keynote address, national and local experts shared information on topics including financial planning, innovations in hospital care and long-term care, elder abuse, senior drivers and transportation, home design for seniors and more. We are grateful to all the presenters, sponsors, vendors and attendees who helped make this event a success. Stay tuned for information about our next summit in 2018!

Pam's Point of View:
Summit was just the start of important conversations
Our Executive Director, Pam Dukes, shares her thoughts on the recent Summit on Aging in this month's blog post. As the Baby Boomer generation reaches their golden years, these conversations will become increasingly important as we work together to both meet the needs of our senior population, and value the contributions they continue to make to our society.
