This week is
Fort Collins Startup Week, and the place to be tomorrow night is the
Community Creative Center in Old Town Library Park! There's a fantastic collection of local artists' work there in an exhibit called the
stART Show. I have four paintings on display in the main gallery, and another piece upstairs in the Idea Lab. Tomorrow is the last day of the exhibit; tomorrow night the
CCC will be open to the public for First Friday Gallery Walk from 6:00-9:00 p.m. I'll be there and I hope to see you!
It's been a while since my last newsletter, so here's a quick update. I finished the musical-instrument-themed transformer cabinet murals in November... feel free to click
HERE and scroll through my photo album on Facebook.
While I was painting the 'Music Boxes' I was interviewed for a story about Art in Public Places for the City of Fort Collins's cable channel. The show is 'Out of the Box' and was published on January 3. It's a well-produced piece; I encourage you to watch the entire seven minute video
HERE. (If you're strapped for time, you can fast forward to 3:12 and to 5:30 to watch the segments featuring Yours Truly!)
Over the holidays my family and I traveled to Costa Rica and had an absolutely wonderful time. We visited three different areas, each with its own climate: a rain forest near a volcano, a cloud forest at high elevation, and the beach. I only did a couple of small watercolor postcard paintings while there, but I intend to do more paintings using some of the copious photos I took.
I'll close this newsletter with my sincere wishes to everyone for peace, harmony, beauty and happiness. I'm heading back into my studio now... Stay tuned!
