Whittling Art on Twitter

Hi <<Name>>

I've been busy this past fortnight. I signed up to a writing challenge and I've been producing a blog post a day for the site. I hope I'll make it through the month as it will feel like a real achievement. Go and have a read and show some support if you feel that way inclined!

These emails are full of pretty random stuff, but if you know anyone else that might like receiving it in their inbox every other Friday afternoon, then please pass it on, or let them know where to sign up

The writing challenge for today was to write a listicle! I did mine on podcasts but I purposefully left this one out for you, my loyal newsletter readers! I heard The Message get mentioned on another podcast a while ago, but never got round to listening to it. The same people have just produced a second story called Life After and I've bing listened to both whilst running over the last week or so. If you like a bit of sci fi, or something a bit dark like Black Mirror, then this is the audio equivalent.
Dwitter reminds me of the old demo scene on the Amiga. What cool effect can you achieve using only 140 characters of JavaScript code and a canvas element on a web page. Turns out for some people, that's quite a lot!
Ever fancied making a wooden spoon? No? Oh this isn't for you then. I saw someone Hatchet and Bear talk about workshops they ran to teach people how to carve spoons like this, but never went. Now you can own a book to teach you instead!
I've hinted at this before now, but I've setup my first giveaway. This month I'm giving away a copy of Dan Ariely's Irrational Game. It's a well thought out card game and good for Friday night drinks with some friends - oh how my life has changed! It's a straight prize draw, but you can share the contest around to get more entries. Good luck!
To finish, this YouTube video tickled me, so I thought I'd share it with you. Can you remote control a dog using a hot dog dangled on s a stick? Turns out, not really, but it looks like a lot of fun trying!
Would it be considered cruelty to try a similar technique to control my daughter with chocolate? Yeah I thought so! Keep an eye on the blog, I'm updating it daily now.

That's it for another fortnight. Don't be a stranger though, if you've got something to say, just reply and chat away. I love hearing from you.

Thanks,

Paul. (Bunkers)
