Alcohol Research UK Annual Conference 2017
Working together: people, practice and policy in alcohol research
Wednesday, 5th April 2017 – Friends House, Central London
There are only a few weeks remaining to register for our conference.
With an exciting programme of speakers, we’ll be exploring new ideas around how to improve alcohol research through creating better connections between research, practice and individual lived experiences.
This is a unique opportunity for researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, service delivery organisations, and charities to come together to learn about the projects providing best practice examples on how to implement change that bridges the divide between academics, practitioners and the public.
The conference will include talks, workshops and panel debates with ground-breaking alcohol and substance use research projects from across the UK, including:
- Edinburgh University Photovoice Project
- Sheffield University Addiction Recovery Research Panel
- King’s College London Service User Research Group
- Adfam and Cruse Bereavement Care Bereaved Through Alcohol and Drugs (BEAD) project
- Changes UK Service User Forum
- Changing Lives Peer Researchers programme
- University of Bedfordshire Public and Expert by Experience (PEERS) initiative
- Sheffield Hallam Family Life in Recovery study
- UKCTAS Alcohol Discussion Group
The keynote address will be delivered by:
Professor Dame Til Wykes, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation at King’s College London, and founder of the Service User Research Enterprise (SURE).
And a plenary talk by:
Simon Denegri, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) National Director for Patients and the Public in Research
