Commit. Trust. Act.
"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act." -Psalm 37:5

Rest

We are just finishing a much needed break from language school here in Albertville. Language study is pretty intense. While not taxing physically, it does require a lot of mental energy leaving us ready for these built in breaks. As athletes let their bodies rest from physical activity from time to time, it’s refreshing to give our brains a little rest and get re-energized for the next round. This principle of rest is nothing new. In fact, taking a regular break has been around since creation as God rested on the seventh day. The challenge in our fast-paced, connected world is to actually make the time for rest. Yet, in the long run it will serve us well.

During this break, Jeff’s brother and sister-in-law came to France to celebrate their 30th anniversary. We are thankful that they chose to spend it over here with us. It was a great visit as we got to see some of the beautiful countries of France and Switzerland. We had multiple opportunities to use our French. School starts again on Monday and we jump right into our next set of exams that day! We need to pass these exams to move on to the next level here at school. It is hard to believe that we will soon be starting our last trimester here in Albertville. Thank you so much for being faithful in your prayers.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

Looking Ahead

While our focus is still on language learning, we are starting to get excited to get to Bongolo. This past month we were able to Skype with some of the team as we participated in an interview for a strategic review process. We have received encouraging emails from the team and we have also received the next food order! In the next few months we will need to order the non-perishable items that we cannot get in Gabon. These will come on a container shortly after we get there and what we order needs to last for about a year. This seems a little bit overwhelming and will take time to figure out. I am glad that neither one of us are picky eaters just in case we accidentally order 3 years worth of ranch dressing!
