Like New Spoken-Storybook! Piglet love, Opie arrives on Facebook

The new Spoke Story Book available! The story is spoken [by moi] and includes a cast of charming characters. I think you will fall in love with Fred. And Helen. And Kevin. [I did.]

Fred is a frisbee and one day, his life changed in an instant. He was scared, and began to lose hope that things would change for the better, but he learns a thing or two-with the help of Helen, a seed sprout.

Fred will help anyone out there who feels like winter will never end, or their bad luck is here forever...he'll remind you to be what you want to be even if you were born into something you didn't ask for. Visit the blog to read more and purchase.

I've added some new card designs and prints at the shop

Introducing Opie and Rosie! Opie is 10 weeks old and is my therapy goat in training. he's a natural and was raised for the past weeks on the bottle because is mother died in birth. He is just a stinking' cute guy! I'm actively looking at elder care facilities to take him. Rosie is a retired elder and is really sweet.  She is living with Opie and Sir tripod goat right now. The barn is a bit chaotic with this little youngster, but we are loving him.

We did have some sadness this past week. Cornelia farrowed, but 6 of the seven piglets were dead when we found them. It was a really cold night and she was a few days early, so I had not seen any signs of her impending farrow, so left the heat lamp off which can be very dangerous. It was a very sad discovery and we are now trying our best to keep the one little male alive [all the others were gorgeous little girls]. This is part of a farm, but this one was so sad.

What's percolating:

  • Most exciting thing: we are turning the upper loft of the front barn into a Workshop area for art/writing/doll making workshops! I am so excited. it will be air-conditioned too. And the cats will be able to roam there, so guest can get healing cat pats. The Misfits will be down below, so workshops will be a love fest of goats, pigs and other Misfits. I plan to announce upcoming workshops by 3/1! if you are planning a mid-coast Maine trip, be sure to check in with me about private workshops too.
  • We are still getting bees in April
  • Sheep shearing happens April 7, with fiber available late summer
  • Available now for adoption at the shop. Working with distressed mohair to make creatures

  • This painting is 10% off for subscribers only.
  • Donkey Wisdom Journal Normally $15 each, but for subscribers $10 each when you buy 2+ copies. Just let me know how many you want and I can let you know the shipping.
  • This 20 x 20" archival print "Moon Guides Barn" [normally $175] is $95 plus shipping - contact me if interested. Only one available.

Sadly, we lost another elder friend, our dear little Scooby Keith who was over 17. He had a relatively quick, stressless death, surrounded by me and the barn animals. I will miss him so much.

Martyn had a birthday and he shares it with one of the cutest Misfits around, Goose! I have a birthday this week and I share mine with Moose!

White Dog is in love with cold, and snow. We love the snow and are learning Eskimo words. It has inspired me in the studio too.

The One Eyed Blind Pug aka Hughie survived his first Nor'easter. We had 12" on the ground and then got 24-30" more. It was beautiful.

Cornelia had a tragedy with her farrowing. She worked so hard but 6 of 7 piglets died. Cornelia is resting and doing fine.
Spring will come!

Muddy loves Fred. Check out the new Spoken Story Book.

It's important to kiss daily. Follow us on Instagram for daily wisdoms and photos of animal and art and land.

I am researching our 1760 house here in Maine and have found the cemetery where the original family lived. Of the six children, four of the boys died in battles of the Civil War, and the final boy was sent home. The mother lived to 89 and outlived them all.
Assumpta and the flock will give us beautiful fiber this spring

Ice skating season is over

But earnest can't wait to go swimming in the ocean.

The Itty book is really resonating with people. Thank you to everyone who buys, and also sends me their thoughts on it!

Big Tony lives the hard life.
Sheering is April 7th!
