Junior Section

We are delighted to report that a number of members have volunteered to join the Junior Committee, which ensures that our younger players will have support and organisation for their section throughout the year.

Medals and Competitions have been organised for 2017, as well as competing in the Lanarkshire Golf Association Juniors League, Division 3, (against Bothwell Castle, Belshill, Drumpellier and Colville Park).

Thanks to Darren Corr, John Barlow and Suzanne Moffatt, and Andy Russell, Junior Convenor, who will be supported by all those on the main Committee and of course, by Ian Graham, PGA Professional.

The Junior AGM has been set for Sunday April 23rd at 1:30pm, where all Under 18's are invited to attend (as well as their parents and carers) prior to a Medal Competition. It is hoped that any new youngsters to the club will come along and meet some future friends.

Course

If you have played the course recently you will notice that there are very wet conditions underfoot. The rainfall has been fairly consistent since the turn of the year, which has resulted in very soft conditions and some localised flooding.

Can we ask anyone using buggies or carts to be sensitive on where they take them, and avoid as much as possible, areas around the greens. There are also areas of vehicles tracks especially in areas that have been worked on over the winter, so can all players be cautious when walking near them. Further caution should be excercised when walking down any hills as the soft conditions have led to many muddy areas.

Good golf can still be enjoyed, as the greens are in very good condition, but we ask everyone to be safe when doing so. (pictured above 6th hole in slightly warner times)

Please note that there is a channel for offering opinions or ideas on the course via a dedicated email address    -  greens@crowwoodgolfclub.co.uk

It's that time of year where subscription invoices for the period 1st April 2017 – 31st March 2018 are being issued.  Please ensure they are accurate to allow prompt payment. I'm sure you will agree that membership of Crow Wood Golf Club is terrific value for money.
