ART MENTORING PROGRAM (ONGOING)
This is a distance critique and advising course which provides one-on-one guidance to visual artists no matter where they live. Artists receive detailed feedback and focused help to develop a cohesive body of work. Sessions are one hour in length via telephone and are packaged in groups of four.
"A wonderful art workshop of sharing and learning with an instructor that knows how to find that perfect balance between teaching and allowing time and space for our own creativity. All of this, in a fabulously welcoming atmosphere." Susan Friedman
"Thanks for the poems. It was A Special Week. I enjoyed all of it. Thanks for being there and being such talented intuitive teacher." Terrial Baier
"I have taken many classes and workshops from many different teachers, and I feel that Janice is a great teacher, very professional and well organized. She explains concepts clearly, and demonstrates as needed to illustrate. She is able to target her instruction to the level needed by each student, beginner to advanced, and she encourages experimentation and play. She checks frequently to be sure that students understand, and she gives enough time for them to try new techniques. Janice also senses when energy is flagging, and quickly changes direction as needed to lead students in another path. She is very generous with materials, equipment, and advice. She was able to guide everyone to stretch themselves and to leave old patterns behind and push themselves to experiment with something new.
I would recommend Janice’s classes to anyone lucky enough to be able to study with her." Anne Barkley
