The Weekly Catch
Maybe I should rename this the Monthly Catch. My one and only New Year's resolution was to produce a weekly newsletter. Like most of our resolutions, this one has resoundingly failed thus far!
Winter steelheading is interesting to say the least. One must be, and stay, committed. Easier said than done as many of you know well. We have chances to catch these marvelous creatures regardless of high and murky water, torrential rains, covering a pool for 1-2 hours in belly deep, core-chilling water, hangovers, failed trout and tarpon sets for us beginners, dialing in the casting form and then losing it, hunger pains, excitement, frustration, hopefulness, despair, etc. I grew up a trout fisherman and have been recently introduced to this other world of the anadromous trout. Now I'm afraid I might have a new addiction. Thanks a lot, James Reid!
I suppose I should now try and jazz you up about all the cool stuff we sell.....snap out of the spell, Gary!
FEATURED ITEM
Any time we see the word "Perfectionist" in our incoming rod queue, we get excited. Paul H. Young created this outstanding trout model back in the 1950's and Bob Summers continued making it at the Young Rod Co. when Mr. Young passed away. One of the best all-around trouts rods in the history of fly-fishing in my opinion. This one is a prime example. Click on the photo to learn more.
