Be Part of Dying Matters Awareness Week

Every year the Dying Matters coalition holds an Awareness Week; in 2017 it’s 8-14 May. There will be media coverage and public conversation about coping with dying, death and bereavement. It’s a great opportunity for the church to be part of that conversation, share our experiences and the Easter message of Christian hope. Find out more below.

The culture around death, dying and funerals is set to change dramatically over the next decade.
Come and listen to speakers including Canon Dr Alan Billings, Dr Linda Woodhead, Thomas Lynch and Thomas Long sharing insights that will help you be ready to meet the challenges ahead.

GraveTalk

If you only do one thing for Dying Matters Awareness Week, consider hosting a GraveTalk event to encourage people to talk about death. Lay minister Kate Bloomer from Salisbury Diocese tried it and is now taking it deanery-wide. Find out why.

Publicise Your Event Through Dying Matters

This year, the theme of Dying Matters Awareness Week is ‘What can you do?’, which encourages active involvement. If you host a related event, there’s an opportunity to publicise it through the website, see below.
