Hello from Global Samaritans Children's Home!
The children and staff at Global Samaritans Children's Home praise God that He has sent much needed rain to drought-stricken southern Zambia. At the same time, the Living Waters Well Ministry of Global Samaritans continues to meet the on-going need for reliable sources of water to villages in the area. In this month's newsletter, you can read how you can help provide water to the people of Zambia as well as help support the other important work of Global Samaritans Children's Home.

Well Team Doing Great Work!
|
|
|
With recent rains and the resulting almost impassable roads, the number of wells being bored has been fewer than usual. However, the Living Waters Well Team has used the opportunity to repair and refurbish the old Canter truck. It is now in great running condition and will be an instrumental part of several Global Samaritans ministries.
With the dry season fast approaching, the Well Team needs you to help them provide a dependable source of clean water for many villages in the area. The cost of a well is $7,000 and the amount includes all of the parts as well as labor, maintenance of equipment, and fuel. In addition to providing water to villages, the Living Waters Well Ministry provides jobs and thus support for Zambian families – another important mission of Global Samaritans.
Please plan to make a donation for all or part of a well. A church in Georgia plans to host a concert this month to raise money for a well. What fundraiser could you and your group sponsor?

New Transportation to School!
|
|
|
As you likely know, Global Samaritans hosted a campaign to raise money for a vehicle to use to take students in grades 10-12 to day school in Livingstone. This allows the students to live at Global Samaritans Children’s Home instead of having to go off to boarding school. The campaign was a success and the vehicle – pictured above – has been working well. The students have enjoyed getting accustomed to a new school.
A LandCruiser was chosen because of its durability – the life span of another vehicle would have been drastically reduced by the notoriously rough roads near the orphanage. Because of its ruggedness and the projected numbers of students in grades 10-12, the LandCruiser will fill the transportation needs of Global Samaritans’ students for many years.
A heartfelt thanks goes to all of you who so generously gave to the campaign for the vehicle. You have made a tremendous difference in the lives of these children!
