Part 2: When You Are the Speaker...
Open your speech with an attention-getting statement or question. Avoid opening with the speech title.
Use the speech title as the last phrase of the speech, which will tie the end to the beginning. Avoid the phrase "Thank you." Simply finish with: "Mr. Toastmaster" or "Mr. President."
The master of ceremonies will approach you and shake your hand. You can return to your seat, while the audience will be thanking you with applause!
