Bo H. Drewsen

A new issue of our newsletter is here and first off I wish to address what has recently been reported in the main stream media about the incredible amounts of waste (plastic waste in particular) that is now found in our oceans. The environment is very important for all of us and I wish that our politicians could put the pedal to the metal to enact some strict and enforceable regulations with very stiff fines for polluters. A friend of mine visited Las Palmast recently and did more than just talking, he spent time out of his holiday to help clean the beach at La Graciosa, Canary Islands. See the photo of the week for the results of his cleanup effort. Scary sight indeed, and a witness to a much much bigger problem for all of us looming on the horizon. Perhaps we could all waste a bit less and start with ourselves first.

In this issue:

  • An interview with A.R.T. Logistics who are specialised in moving oversized cargo to Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Russia and Mongolia.
  • A Q&A with a chartering broker in Peru. OAP tells us their story
  • Sector News, Shipping New, Video and Photo of the week

I am currently traveling in Singapore and will move on to Hong Kong and Shanghai meeting owners, project freight forwarders, lawyers etc. to get the latest on the situation in Asia.

Wishing you pleasant reading and until next week...
