An unusually large Swedish Orrefors 1950's cased glass 'fish graal' signed Edvard Hald (similar example in the V&A Museum, London) dated 1955 (original design 1936) height: 6 1/2" diameter: 6"

Orrefors Glasbruk (manufacturer)

"Fish-Graal" glass vase which was popular name for this technique. It is virtually spherical with a small cavity. The design is of fish swimming amongst weeds. Graal is named after the Holy Grail.

Sweden (designed and made) The clear green hued glass was flashed with dark brown glass which was then cut away by engraving or acid-etching to leave the fish design. The whole was then cased with the final clear glass outer layer. Engraved in handwriting underneath.
