March Webinar Training Date and Time Change

March Shipment Delayed
We ordered new hardware for you at the beginning of February, but because of new accounting we couldn't figure out how to pay for it! Finally it's all paid and will be shipped Monday. If you added your email address to your live page last week, you'll get your tracking numbers automatically.
Training Webinar Date and Time Change!
In our previous update we scheduled our project training webinar for Saturday, March 4th. However, since our shipment was delayed, we have changed the training webinar to Thursday, March 9th at 5:30PM Pacific time.
We will still be having a social call Saturday, March 4th at 9:00AM Pacific time that we would love for you to join! Ask questions about the program, this month's project, or share project you've made. We'll be using YouTube Live.
Can't make it? The training will also be available on our youtube channel.
No More PayPal Reimbursements for Live Expenses
Don't worry, we'll still reimburse you if you sign up for the Microsoft bootcamp! Also, If you've already requested a reimbursement, we'll honor that, but from now on, please make sure everything goes on your Emburse card. Because of new accounting, using PayPal is a lot more difficult.

Using Hackster Live Event Page
|
|
|
Reminder: Post your March event on your Hackster Live Page!
This is the first sponsored workshop since our new Silicon Tier Ambassador requirements were announced. Don't forget to post your event on your Hackster Live Page and encourage event attendees to RSVP on the site!
Why? This helps us to automate metrics we send to sponsors about how many events we had and who RSVPd. We're also building some new features to make this even easier.
You can learn more about how to post your event here.
Script for RSVP's
When you create an event on your Hackster Live page, all RSVPs will receive an e-mail reminder one day before the event telling them what to bring and the topic of the workshop. This is an automatic e-mail created by Hackster. This month's reminder contains the following message:
"For this project, please bring a Mac, Chromebook, or Linux computer. Make sure your computer supports bluetooth. You can check this on Mac by going to menu → system report → bluetooth → Bluetooth Low Energy supported must say “yes.”
Note: only bring a Windows computer if you're ok with being frustrated. Microsoft's newly released Windows 10 Creators Update may solve the issues with bluetooth drivers, but no promises that it will work with this project.
We'll be providing the Arduino and Mikroelektronika shield and relays.
If you want to use the relay, you'll need a LOW VOLTAGE (12V or less) lamp or led string lights as well as power supply (it's probably best to bring your own soldering iron as well). Otherwise you can stick to using just LEDs and the arduino 101 - it's a pretty cool project with just LEDs!
Something like these would work well:
LED Strip
Power supply
