Summer Opportunities at the CPI

Join us this summer at the Center on Poverty and Inequality! Undergraduate summer fellows will have the opportunity to participate in CPI research groups and our new Poverty and Technology initiative. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis beginning March 6, 2017.
50th Anniversary of the Kerner Commission Report

In 1967, President Lyndon Johnson established a commission to investigate the causes of successive summers of racial violence. The Russell Sage Foundation is soliciting articles that revisit the Kerner Commission report and consider its implications for the present day. Proposals are due by March 30, 2017. 
Summer Course for Research Design

Do your research proposals sometimes fall short? The Summer Course for Research Design provides an intensive study of research design in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences. Applications are due by April 15, 2017.
LIS Summer Workshop

The LIS Summer Workshop introduces researchers to comparative research in income distribution, employment, and social policy, using the Luxembourg Income Study Database and the Luxembourg Wealth Study Database. Applications are due by March 26, 2017.

America’s Poverty Course
Neighborhoods and Multi-Generational Effects

Summit on Technology and Opportunity
Basic Income and the Future of Jobs

Chris Hughes, Sam Altman, Juliana Bidadanure, and Natalie Foster discuss the basic income — what it is, how to implement it, and how to pay for it.
