T20 Cricket at Coogee Oval
Watch out for this big local event coming up on Sunday 5th March
The inaugural Whitney / Poidevin T20 Cup match will be held between Randwick Rugby and the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. Both clubs are supported by valuable sponsors Clovelly Community Bank Branch and Cartwright Insurance Brokers. The afternoon will kick off at 2 pm with a game of touch between both clubs before the main event.
Club legends Mike Whitney and Simon Poidevin invite you to join in the afternoon with your family and friends in what will be a great afternoon of cricket, touch footy and community networking!
The day is also important for both clubs as we will be raising funds to support two very worthwhile charities, Stop Sarcoma and the Ponting Foundation.

The Club has a number of trial games over the next few weeks in preparation for Round 1. Having our supporters there on the sidelines to cheer the boys on makes all the difference to our performance, so please do come along, thank you!

Congratulations go to Galloping Greens Colts Esei Ha'angana and Harrison Goddard who were selected as Captain and Vice-Captain respectively for last week's Rebels U20s fixture versus Queensland Reds U20s.
After a break of some years, Randwick Rugby participated in the 2017 Kiama 7s Tournament. A group of younger players under the tutelage of Coach Patrick Phibbs travelled down for the day. Thanks go to Randwick Rugby Colts and NSW U20s Tom Pirrodi, Sepesa Tarogi, Dylan Pietsch and Lochie Simpson who came down to Coogee Beach last Sunday 26 Febraruy to assist the Coogee Junior Rugby Club with the 'Come and Try Rugby' session
The UK Rugby Health project - which is investigating the long term health of retired rugby players - is expanding to Australia and the Pacific Islands. Led by Leeds Beckett University and launched in September 2016, the research team is currently examining bone, joint, cardiometabolic and neurological health in former players.
The project will be extended by way of a uniquely broad collaboration including several of Australia’s pre-eminent concussion researchers, Dr Adrian Cohen (Headsafe) and Dr Clare Fraser (Save Sight Institute) at the University of Sydney, Dr Alan Pearce of La Trobe University and Dr Cloe Cummins from the University of New England and provide general health, neurocognitive and biomarker testing to Australian retired rugby players of both codes and retired non-contact athletes.
