A BIG WELCOME TO THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE CWC TEAM!
Earlier this month, we welcomed Sarah Spangler as the new Community Engagement Director at CWC. Originally from Tigard, Oregon, Sarah Spangler remained in Corvallis after graduating from Oregon State University with degrees in Biology and International Studies. Chasing a lifelong passion for volunteering, she found a sense of community and fulfillment in local environmental nonprofits. She is committed to protecting the environment in any way she can, though she finds the most joy in helping people in her community connect with nature. In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling with friends and baking wedding cakes. She is thrilled to join the CWC team as Community Engagement Director. You can reach her at engagement@chintiminiwildife.org.
RAPTOR EDUCATION PROGRAM UPDATES
Exercise is Important!
All of our resident raptors have various exercise routines that keep them active and in shape. Below are two videos showing a few of our ambassadors doing just that!

Morgan, CWC's Sparred Owl, doing some flying exercise, shown in slow motion!

Here is Jack, our CWC education Merlin, doing his jump-up exercises!

The Crew is Ready for Spring!
Our raptors have been out and about taking advantage of the brief breaks in rain and enjoying the sun!

BLOG UPDATES
Owl You Need is Love
Alyssa Tarbox, a volunteer on Friday and Wednesday, and one of Chintimini’s guest bloggers, writes about the mating and nesting behaviors of Great Horned Owls. Read more about these owls here!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Meet Cherie, our Volunteer Spotlight for February! Cherie is a shift leader on Wednesday evenings and has volunteered her time at CWC for the past two years. She loves getting to work with raptors and corvids (those are her favorite!) and taking special care of baby mammals! Thank you, Cherie - your time and commitment are so appreciated! Read more about Cherie here!

VOLUNTEER PROJECTS

Many times our volunteers go above and beyond to contribute to CWC. Case in point, one of our awesome volunteers Mark Meyer crafted these remarkable wooden boxes for us! Check out our Facebook page to find out what they will be used for!
