Afrikaans-Dag

1st X1 Hockey Team Fundraising

The RGHS 1st X1 Hockey Team is touring to Holland/Belgium in September of this year.
The squad has been selected on merit, so as one of our fundraising initiatives, there is a Rustenburg Hockey Recipe Book being sold for R100 with all proceeds going towards the tour.
The recipe book contains all the contributing families’ “tried-and-tested” home favourites and are available from either the Bugs Boutique or from Ms René Forbes in the Marketing Office at RGHS.

Please support this initiative to make the tour a success, not only for the benefit of
this team, but hopefully for many such tours to come.

Green Flash – Brought to you by the Earth Children

Palm oil is found in many spheres of our lives.  Many of you are probably unaware of the consequences of palm oil consumption on the environment.  Large areas of tropical forests and other ecosystems with high conservation values have been cleared to make room for vast monoculture oil palm plantations. Indigenous people become displaced and biodiversity is lost.

Here are just some examples of everyday products of which we should be consuming less.

On Saturday, 4 March the Earth Children will lead a hike up Constantia Nek. The whole school is welcome to join us - we will meet at 7:15 at the parking lot. There is a sign-up sheet outside Ms Chambers' class.

I am looking for a lift home in the afternoons for my daughter who is currently in Grade 9 to the Bo-Kaap (CBD) or to my new workplace in Paarden Eiland. I will gladly contribute to petrol cost or I can offer to drop your daughter in the mornings if you live in Sea Point/Camps Bay/Tamboerskloof areas or we can work something out.
