Happy Monday and welcome back from March Break, Wilkinson! Today is Day 3. Here is your rundown of what's happening this week.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope that you have enjoyed the March Break with your family and that everyone is refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the school year. This is a very busy time with lots of activities, events, and opportunities for students. It is also a time when we cover some important areas of the curriculum so please continue to support your child’s learning and reach out to their teachers if there are any issues or concerns.

I would like to thank all you wonderful parents for your donations to our Parent council through various fundraising activities. We have been able to update all classrooms with Smart TV’s, and purchase hundreds of Chromebooks and iPads. This is opening up new and exciting ways of teaching/learning with our students and extending the curriculum. Your Parent Council has done a wonderful job on your behalf and we feel very lucky to work with such a dedicated and committed group of parents. I look forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming Spring Concert.

Sincerely,
Allan Kelly

Socks 4 Souls - Thank you!
Wilkinson collected 450 pairs of socks. We had great participation from so many students and families. Thank you to all of the students who helped by purchasing socks, makings posters and bagging and tagging the socks at the end of the sock drive. Congratulations, et merci aussi à Mme Donald.

Great News from the EcoTeam!
Wilkinson is certified as a Gold EcoSchool, but we'd like to be a Platinum EcoSchool. To support our bid, the EcoTeam has successfully applied for a water refill station (worth over $2000) to be installed, free of charge, before the end of the year.

The EcoTeam also successfully applied for the opportunity to host a bicycle safety assembly in the spring, courtesy of Culturelink Settlement Resources, a group that works with schools to promote bike safety and sustainable transportation.

Let's give a round of applause to the students who support our Eco efforts every day, and to the teacher members of the EcoTeam: Ms. Cameron (Rm. 22), Mr. Kotsampouikidis (Rm. 20) and Mme Barbier.

Special thanks go out to Ms. Di Iorio (Rm. 14) for leading the bicycle initiative, Mr. Kasaval for spearheading the healthy eating program, and Mr. Bozabalian (Rm. 19) for bringing it all together.
