Come to La Crosse for UMRR's Annual Meeting - May 6

It will be a good meeting! Howard Learner from the Environmental Law and Policy Center is our keynote speaker - the title of his talk is "Playing to Win: Achieving Environmental Progress at the State and Local Levels When U.S. EPA Is Stepping Back ". With all the push to roll back environmental protections now, we will talk about what matters most and where (and how!) pressure can be applied to keep moving ahead with Mississippi River clean-ups and enhancements. As we cruise the river on the La Crosse Queen, Gretchen Benjamin, Associate Director Water Infrastructure for The Nature Conservancy, will discuss the natural history of the river, the changes that make the river what is it today, and what government and NGOs are doing to bring back this great river.
