SHL March 2017 Meeting

Atheism in Comedy, Your Funny or Your Life

Yes, this month's SHL meeting will be about how funny atheism can be.  

But, before we get to the comedy, let me begin with two serious requests for your help in demonstrating our humanists ethics.  On Sunday March 19th from 12:45PM until 1:30PM, SHL will be helping to serve meals to the poor and homeless in Charleston.  We still need a few people to help purchase, prepare and serve food. Please see here for more details and write to volunteers@lowcountryhumanists.org to sign up.  Additionally, we could use your help with SHL's efforts to support the five refugee families that recently arrived in Charleston.  Please support those refugees by donating directly to our Charity of the Quarter program.  

Okay, enough with the drama.  Joshua Berg's presentation, Atheism in Comedy, Your Funny or Your Life, will be a welcome respite from some of the more serious issues, giving you some comic relief: a chance to let go and laugh.  

The presentation will also be an exploration of an overlooked, under analyzed, extremely candid and potentially revealing medium for expression of human belief and disbelief. 

Join us for this free public event beginning at 4PM at Gage Hall next to the Unitarian Church on Archdale Street.  And, if you want, you can stay after the meeting to share a pizza dinner with our guest speaker and SHL members.  (A cash donation of $5-$10 is expected from those who stay for the dinner party.)
