'“What a strange thing!

It's cherry blossom time at last, which means transition weather at its finest.  Many of you have been asking for a bulky weight cotton yarn and I found one that I absolutely love!   Meet 'Puffin'!  It's a puffy, squishy, deliciously soft bulky cotton boucle [with a tiny nylon binder]. It's perfect for all the transitional weather of spring.   It is so soft that you can use it for baby items and anything to be worn against your skin.

It is ready in several colors now, and I will continue to add colors as the season progresses.   Keep your eye on the Etsy shop for the new colors as they're finished.

Look for this yarn in person in our booth at The Fiber Event at Greencastle, Indiana on April 14 & 15.   Once you hug a skein, you may not be able to put it down.

Announcing new smaller classes!

This year I've added several small classes to my calendar and I'm very excited about it. These classes are taught to groups of no more than four participants right here at my studio.  I really enjoy these smaller groups where people can get to know each other, ask all the questions they want, have time to try a few extra things and relax and have a great time.   It's a tremendous benefit to you when the instructor has the time to really focus on you and what you need at the moment.

My studio is on forty acres of very rural woods and fields in southern Indiana.  There is very little traffic on our gravel road.  We have ducks, chickens, cats and a dog.  It's a quiet, peaceful and inspiring location.  For more information and some photos of what you can expect here, check out this page on my studio website.

The classes at the studio are as follows:
  • May:  Color Harmonies [1/2 day]
  • June:  Dyeing Cotton Yarns [full day]
  • July:  Dyeing Cotton Fabrics [1/2 day]
  • September:  Dyeing with Natural Dyes [full day]
  • October:  Dyeing Silk Scarves [1/2 day].
My complete calendar is below so you can see exact dates and what I'm teaching everywhere this year.

You can register and pay online here.  There is a significant discount if you register early.

As always, I'm happy to talk to you so email me if you have questions or if you'd like to arrange a special class for you and a friend.  Email:  robin@morenna.com
