Leveraging Archival Resources at the UC Berkeley Libraries
Join Christina Marino, the Reference Archivist of the Environmental Design Archives, and Jesse Silva, the Federal Documents and Political Science Librarian, for a panel discussion on taking advantage of all that UC Berkeley Libraries have to offer for archival research. Register here!
Get Involved in Spring 2017
Working groups are a great way to get involved in a community of like-minded researchers. You can always join at any time! See a listing of working groups on our website.
Special Events & Announcements
Linguistic and Ethnographic Sound Recordings from Early Twentieth-century California: Optical scanning, digitization, and access
This lecture will discuss a collaborative project that uses new technology (developed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) to produce optical scans of all wax cylinders in the university's collection, from which improved audio transfers are being created over previous techniques. See more info here!
BIDS Data Science Fellow Applications
BIDS is calling for applications for their Data Science Fellow Program! Find out more information on requirements, benefits of becoming a Data Science Fellow, and the application process here.
Digital Technologies and the Future of Qualitative and Interpretive Analysis
These two talks will explore ways digital technologies and computational methods can be integrated into qualitative and interpretive projects in the social sciences and humanities, featuring D-Lab instructor Laura Nelson! Get more info here.
Spring 2017 Tours & Orientations
D-Lab is here to support and advance research in the social sciences, humanities and related disciplines. If you are a faculty, student, or advisor the D-Lab team is available in the Spring Semester to come to your department and give an orientation of our services. We are also happy to host your group at the D-Lab for a formal or informal tour of our space and to discuss our services. Email us to arrange a visit.
