Today is National Close the Gap Day!
If you aren't able to participate in an organised event, try to take some time today to discuss the major issue of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People living 10–17 years less than non-Indigenous Australians.
You can also take take action by signing the Close the Gap pledge, or by simply learning more about the gap and why it exists.

East Gippsland Ice Prevention Community Workshop 2
Last week, over 25 leaders from all parts of East Gippsland volunteered to identify and 'map' why local people use drugs for the first time, and how these causes connect and combine to influence behaviour.
All participants noted that the workshop was valuable, many also saying that the outcomes of the workshop will be valuable to their community. Well done to the EG Ice Prevention Working Group for organising the successful event! The next workshop will be held in April.

Gippsland Multicultural Strategic Plan
Moving to a new community is difficult, especially in a new country! LCHS and Gippsland Ethics Community Council, Latrobe City Council and Centre for Multicultural Youth are developing a plan to help support new people of different backgrounds. The Data Dictionary provides detailed technical specifications for every measure identified in the Outcomes Framework including: rationale for inclusion definition of the measure and data sources.
