A WORD FROM THE PASTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS:

John 14:23 says If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. This chapter begins with Jesus promising that he is going back to heaven to prepare a place for us. However, he wants us to know that we don't have to wait until heaven to be in the presence of God. As we love God and obey His Word, God comes and makes His home with us. Isn't it an amazing and gracious thought: God, the Creator of the Universe, the Holy One of Israel lives in you and in me!

OUR CONFERENCE

HAVE YOU BEEN MISSING THE ILLINOIS FOCUS MAGAZINE?  That's because it is now enclosed in the center of the Lake Union Herald.  Illinois Focus is still published every second month:  February, April, June, August, October and December.  This newsletter is packed full of inspiration and goings-on around the conference about which you definitely want to be "in-the-know"! There is a great way to get your copy of the Focus hot off the press and right into your email box.  Click on the "Subscribe to Conference eNewsletter" button on the home page of the Conference website www.ilcsda.org.  You can also email Shona Cross at the conference (e-news@ilcsda.org) and she will be happy to add you.

SUPPORT ADVENTIST WORLD RADIO (AWR) — An AWR listener in Ethiopia wrote, "I've never been a believer.  I have become your regular listener, and I now believe in the Living God." Plan now to thoughtfully support AWR's annual offering on March 11, so the voice of hope can continue to be heard in more than 100 languages around the world.  For a closer look at AWR, go to YouTube.com/awrweb.

SAFETY SABBATH - MARCH 25, 2017 — This day has been set aside by churches across North American as a day to focus on the church's preparedness for fire or active shooters.  The natural first response to an emergency is to deny that the situation is happening.  As active shooter and other emergency situations continue to occur, we need to be ready.  Watch and listen for more information on this day to learn how to react proactively in dangerous situations instead of being paralyzed by fear.

SAVE the DATES — Back by Popular Demand!  Mission Akita, not once, but twice in 2017!  Please save the dates:   SUMMER May 31 – June 7 and FALL October 15-20.  We had so much fun and accomplished so much for Camp Akita in just a few days!  Watch for updates in 2017!

GO & TELL — is an evangelism fund for the Illinois Conference. Through GO & TELL we are able to fund evangelistic projects in local churches, and provide financial help for new church plants. Please help us promote this message in every church! This Facebook page is dedicated exclusively to Go & Tell ministries. Click on the link and like the page!
