INSURANCE CHANGES AT CENTRAL WEST LACHLAN LANDCARE

Central West Lachlan Landcare have changed their insurance cover and have chosen to utilise the Membership and Insurance program that Landcare NSW has negotiated and brought together.

CWLL felt that the membership and insurance program is good value for money and also strengthens Landcare NSW in their representations to government on behalf of members.

For a number of years one of the key things Landcare groups have asked for is cost effective insurance that provides adequate protection for group members. Landcare NSW are now able to deliver on that need with the new Membership & Insurance Program. For further information, click here.

It is important that you as a Landcarer have coverage for any activities that you or your Landcare Group are undertaking. It is worth checking into this before any activities are undertaken under the 'Landcare' title.

GREEN ARMY

Our Green Army Team have been busy treating weed problems in the Parkes and Forbes Shires, working at the Bedgerabong Cemetery, Peak Hill Cemetery, Trundle Waste Depot, Gum Swamp, Beagamil Dam and Peak Hill Nature Reserve. They have also been seed collecting and propagating local seed.

Our current Team will be running until early June, followed by another team that will be with us for 20 weeks until November 2017.

We are thrilled that three of our first Team have employment with local companies and we hope that our current and future teams use this experience as a platform for future work endeavours.

It was a wet day for our DrumMUSTER on Friday with low numbers in attendance. This could have partially been due to access issues for many landholders and the rainy day that we had.
Thanks to our hard working volunteers who worked in the rain today to take in over 300 drums during the Parkes DrumMUSTER. We will hopefully be holding another muster in September.

TRIP'N AROUND THE CWLL AREA

Did you ever wonder what happened with a local Landcare group project that you heard about 15 - 20 years ago, but were afraid to ask?

We are planning to hold a bus trip in September to have a look at past projects in our area and plan for some new projects. The Back Yamma Landcare Group are keen to be involved and showcase some of their Landcare projects.

We would like to hear from you if you have a project in your area that is worth sharing. If we can't get to them on the day, we would still love to hear about them.....even if they didn't turn out as planned!

To express your interest in being involved, please email Marg at
cwllpo@hotmail.com

Please note that our office will be closed between Tuesday, 28/3 - Friday, 31/3.
