Annual General Meeting

Wednesday, March 15 at 7:00 pm
at the Yukon Conservation Society, 302 Hawkins St, Whitehorse

In addition to the usual AGM business, we'll be doing a presentation about where the Potluck Food Co-op is at now and head into a discussion about where we might go from here.

Under the new way we are operating, we may have more time to focus on food security issues and other food-related projects, and we would like to hear from our members!

Bring along anyone you think might be interested in joining our co-op.
And if you like, bring a potluck desert to share!

Join our Board of Directors

We're looking for new board members to join for the upcoming term. We have 4 confirmed board members but require at least 5 to keep operating. And as they say, "more hands make light work." This is a great opportunity to learn more about your co-op, get involved with our operations or help direct our future. You don't need to come with special skills or an identified role, we'll help you find a place within the board that works for you. Raise your hand on Wednesday and help us build our co-op together.

Special Resolutions

We will also be presenting special resolutions to make changes to our constitution such as:

 1) to extend the period in which we can have our AGM from the first 60 days of the following year, to 92 days after the following year (ie. from the end of February to the end of March).

2) to reduce the minimum number of board members from 5 to 3 (sadly due to the lack of members stepping forward to take on this role)

3) to offer an option to join the co-op with annual fees.

Food purchases

We will also have some products for sale, such as:
  • whole oat groats,
  • chili seasoned oil,
  • sesame seeds,
  • Sage North seeds,
  • sprouting seeds
  • paper towels
  • ground ginger
Please bring cash, cheques or credit cards to pay for things you might want.

Next order closes March 27 at 9 a.m.

Get your order in before Monday, March 27, at 9 a.m. for our next monthly shipment.

Visit our online store now!

Pick-up will be Saturday, April 1, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Volunteer Updates

We need a bookkeeper and a treasurer, and they need not be the same person. However, our bookkeeping has become quite simple under our new model, and this could be an excellent opportunity for a member to learn about keeping simple books, and helping the board make sense of them.

The current treasurer is retiring from this role, but is available for mentoring.

Also, Simone Rudge will be taking over our communications role from Ruth Lera in May. Thank you Ruth for all you have done for us! And thank you Simone for being willing to take this on!

Please send an email to info@potluckcoop.com if you want to volunteer with the Potluck Food Co-op in any capacity.
